Having run a business for a number of years on his own, our client wanted to launch his product into a different business sector. We carried out a complete assessment of his business, where he is now? Who his clients are? His competition and how big he wanted to grow his business? We carried out some in-depth market research with his clients and competitors. After establishing the point of difference of the product and assessing where product improvements could be made to enhance the overall client experience we planned a programme of which includes some updates on the product, IT security structure, a new user interface, new branding, new website and an overhaul of the business structure to ensure that it has the capacity to grow sustainably in the future. Alongside this we are helping to develop relationships with other business partners that are beneficial to his business.
Hair and Beauty Salon
The owner approached me when her award winning business was in its' 10th year and was about to loose a member of staff who had joined at the very beginning. My client was aware that this could have an impact on her business and asked for my guidance to ensure that this event did not unsettle the business or its' clients. I carried out an in-depth assessment of all areas of the business: Staffing, Clients, Overheads, Turnover, Profitability, Customer journey, products & services and Systems. After some 10 years in business a great place to start was to re-affirm where the business was going and to re-establish it's purpose so that any work we did together would lead to the business being equipped to grow. We worked through the business to ensure that we had covered all of the threats associated with a change in staff and made sure that the other parts of the business were set up and running smoothly to continue the excellent service that the salon offers. We made improvements in some areas, stabilised others and re-engaged the staff through some changes in roles and responsibilities.
Private Medical Practitioner
A private medical consultant who was embarking on a private practice to run alongside his NHS work. His diary was already full with patients and he didn’t know where to start. We provided a solid framework to set up a fully functional, compliant business with administrative hub/front office to run his new business and take care of his patients.
These steps included registration and full compliance with the BMA and GMC, setting up a new company with legal and financial set up. Setting up contracts with Insurance companies, identification of a Practice Management System to support the practice. Branding, Marketing and Website strategy and design of office and systems.
Picture Framing and Photography Business
Our client has been running a successful picture framing and photography business for the last 27 years. Digital photography requires sophisticated computer software and extensive storage. With little free time to devote to bringing his systems up to date we came in to help him source and implement new software and work flows to cope with the huge amount of storage and back-ups he needs. We are also working with him to build a new e-commerce website and following this we will be updating his picture framing website.
A business which started 3 years ago and has steadily built up a client base offering a very good service. When we met the owner was struggling to find time to manage the running costs of the business. Through our work together we found ways of decreasing some of the overheads and worked on restructuring her fees. The outcome gives her the potential to recoup her running costs month on month and improve her profit margin.
